InterComputer Corporation is in the business of enabling the secure electronic exchange of funds and high-value information in a fully insured environment. The Company does so by combining its proprietary InterOperating System with your standard Internet connection to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, usability, and delivery of high-value electronic information.

InterComputer is a privately held entity incorporated in Delaware and headquartered in Fullerton, California.

Executive Management

Scott Volmar – CEO and President

Scott Volmar founded InterComputer Corporation in 1998. As the CFO of a large construction company during the dotcom boom, he was painfully aware of the problems businesses face in executing transactions and sharing high-value information accurately, efficiently, and safely. Using his computing background and business experience, he researched and developed the foundation principles for “trusted path” electronic commerce, and assembled an international team of experts to create the world’s first insured business interoperating system. Scott is active on multiple industry advisory boards and is a frequent conference speaker.


Michael Rowland – Vice-President Marketing

Michael Rowland has twenty years of experience in commercializing high-tech, business-to-business software solutions for global Fortune 1000 companies. His background includes marketing and sales operations management in over 40 countries.


Kim Goddard – Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Goddard has over 20 years of experience as a software development manager and architect in both the high-tech and consumer markets. Prior to joining InterComputer, Kim worked for Hercules Aerospace, emWare, and ACS, as well as doing professional consulting for various firms in the software industry. Kim holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Utah in Engineering.


Douglas Hale – Chief Security Officer

Mr. Hale has over 30 years experience in hardware and software design and architecture, much of it focusing on the area of security. Prior to joining InterComputer, Douglas worked for numerous technology firms including Oakley Networks, Rappore Technologies, Novell, Evans and Southerland Super Computer Division, Andor Systems, Integrated CMOS Systems, Trilogy/GateNet, Amdahl Corporation, and STC Computer Research Corporation. Douglas is a graduate of the DeVry Institute of Technology, Phoenix, Arizona, and has completed the RAMP Security Analysis Class, National Computer Security Center (NSA).


Michael Handy – Chief Information Officer

Mr. Handy has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years in various management, system administration, network engineering, and software development positions. His broad technical experience has assisted many small startup companies grow quickly and become successful. As one of the primary founders of the web hosting company FreeServers.com, Michael designed and oversaw the server infrastructure that supported multiple millions of hosted web-pages. An expert in Linux-based operating systems, Michael is active in the Open Source community where he founded a Linux users group in 1996 that has grown to several hundred members.


Gamal Herbon – Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Herbon brings over 20 years of experience in the software development industry to InterComputer. Prior to joining InterComputer, Gamal worked at Novell, McGraw-Hill, and ExegeSys. Gamal has experience in technology business management and development, project direction, technical and marketing information, professional consulting, as well as computer security and networking. Gamal is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Board of Directors

Carling H. Childs

Mr. Childs is a decorated WWII veteran who graduated from USC and the Army General Staff College. A thirty-year career in the aerospace industry followed, where he led a large organization in the development and production of the Minuteman ICBM. Mr. Childs founded CVC Audio-Video Supply Company in 1967. He currently serves on the board of the Southern California College of Optometry and is an active philanthropist.

Jamil Sopher

Mr. Sopher brings a distinguished and diverse background to the Company’s board. After taking BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell and an MBA from Harvard, he served in the U.S. Maritime Service and then began a career in investment banking. In 1978 he joined the World Bank staff and oversaw dozens of major infrastructure development project loans to Asian countries. Mr. Sopher retired from the World Bank in 2000 with a track record of innovation, and began a global consulting practice. He has served on several corporate boards and continues to advise investment banks and asset management firms.

Dr. Les Walls

Dr. Walls is the immediate past president of the Southern California College of Optometry. In that office, he led a remarkable growth and expansion of the school’s facilities and organizations. Dr. Walls earned his optometry degree from UC Berkeley and his M.D. from UC Davis. His career achievements include presiding over a number of professional associations, boards, and committees and receiving numerous professional, scholastic, and community service awards. He is licensed to practice medicine in three states and is an Army Reserve Medical Service Corps veteran.

Dr. John Spain

Dr. Spain is president and COO of Information Risk Group, a worldwide security services organization. He has more than 25 years of experience in industrial security, operational and systems auditing, information systems security, and risk management. Dr. Spain was responsible for the identification and successful prosecution of members of the “Legion of Doom”, an infamous hacker organization responsible for abusive cyber attacks on Fortune 100 companies. His work with the Electronic Communications Service Provider (ECSP) committee underpinned the U.S. Telecommunications Act of 1994. Dr. Spain is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He holds a Ph. D. in Administration and Management with a dissertation on Corporate Risk Modeling.


Advisors

Dr. Ned C. Hill

Dr. Ned Hill has served as Dean of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University since 1998. He currently serves on prominent industry and government advisory committees and on the boards of companies such as Beneficial Life Insurance and Alcatel.

Kenneth W. Sardoni

Ken Sardoni brings fifteen years of software consulting and project management experience to the InterComputer advisory board, including service as a regional vice president of a major consulting division of Oracle Corporation. Mr. Sardoni currently heads the Technology Department at the University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City.

Joseph L. Keller

Joseph Keller has nearly 30 years of accounting experience as an advisor to Fortune 1000 companies. In 1997, he retired from Arthur Andersen’s tax practice as a general partner. He serves on numerous industry and government advisory committees and is a member of the Tax Legislation and Policy Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Keller is currently a professor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches accounting and taxation.
